The church planting initiative for the church started in 2012 after 39 people signed up and went through the ten week Mizizi experience. The church was launched after four consecutive Mizizi experiences run by Pst. Tony Muli and Jack Odeo. Mavuno Blantyre was launched in 2013 by Pst. Waweru Njenga.
We believe and uphold the traditional teachings of our Church as we seek, by God’s grace, to witness to the reality of Jesus Christ in our modern world. We are blessed with a lively and diverse congregation, with members from all around the country and across the globe.

Nursery & Sunday School
Nursery is available for young children ages 0-3 during our service on Sunday morning. Children ages 3-12 are invited to join us for Sunday School during the main service on Sunday.
Young & Fearless
Young & Fearless is open to anyone ages 12-18. Come join us every Friday at 7:00 pm at St. Thomas Anglican Church for fun activities, community, and open discussions about faith and how and why it matters in our world today. For more information, contact details are on our contacts page
Women’s Life Group
The WLG is an open group for the ladies of Mavuno congregation to attend. The intention behind this ministry is to create social ties between the women of Mavuno as well as to be in service to our Church and Community.

Mavuno Blantyre was launched in 2013 by Pst. Waweru Njenga. They currently meet at Peoples Building on Victoria Avenue. Opposite National Bank. The address is 3391 Blantyre, Malawi and service starts at 10am every sunday. The church was launched after four consecutive Mizizi experiences run by Pst. Tony Muli and Jack Odeo. Thereafter Pst. Waweru Njenga took charge and led the community until June 2015. Pst Tim and Ciiku Kaburu are currently leading the community of Mavuno Blantyre. Mavuno Blantyre has a vision of impacting the church and mission sectors of society, particulalry through online platforms, in the southern parts of Africa.
